New Orleans, Louisiana: Criminals who have committed violent crimes against women and children and managed to escape justice are being found dead or severely injured.
Detective Mark Evers is a local boy and ex-college football hero. He is with the New Orleans Police Department in the Crimes Against Persons department as a senior detective. Mark begins to notice a pattern to these crimes that might connect them to a single person or group.
His investigation leads him through the back alleys of the old French Quarter and into the steamy alligator-filled swamps in the south. His quest uncovers what appears to be a well disciplined, military organization. As he tries to identify this group of vigilantes, he encounters some unexpected information that turns the quest into a very dangerous investigation. The closer he gets to the source the more he becomes convinced that maybe even his own police force is harboring them!
With his life on the line he continues to pursue his leads and finds that the danger is closer than he ever imagined...
